Glen Ellyn is home to two international authors, and with help from another family member who is also internationally known, they have collaboratively written their first book together. The three authors? Dad, Dr. Raymond A. Dieter, Jr., and sons, Dr. Robert S. Dieter and Dr. Raymond A Dieter III.

Glen Ellyn Village Board voted to approve the purchase of 2 ambulances, a 5-year contract for paramedics supplied by PSSI in previous board meetings. They are currently reviewing contract options from 3 different billing companies. An analysis of the financial numbers that drove the Village to begin supplying their own paramedics and ambulances is outlined below.

On Monday, April 13, 2009, the Glen Ellyn Village Board approved a contract with PSSI by a vote of 4-2.

PSSI is the company that will begin providing paramedic services to Glen Ellyn residents. The contract includes four paramedics for each 24 hour shift so that Glen Ellyn can staff two 24 hour ambulances. Paramedics will work one 24 hour shift, then be off-duty for 48 hours.

Two paramedics will be housed at each fire department station in Glen Ellyn. Work on the sleeping areas has begun at both locations.

As election time nears, many residents may ask, “What is the Civic Betterment Party?” We asked Alex Demos, Nominating Chair for the Civic Betterment Party, to respond to a few questions to help residents understand how the party works and what they are doing for this year's election.

The second annual Pajamapalooza event in support of Pajama Program (www.pajamaprogram.org) will take place this year from April 20 - May 3.

Pajama Program is a non-profit organization that provides new pajamas to homeless/displaced children. For many of the children who wait for permanent placements in loving environments, the pajamas are the closest thing to "home" that they know. Last year's community drive brought in nearly 600 pairs of pajamas for children in need.
