A former member and longtime treasurer of the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company has been accused of stealing $260,000 from the fire company and using the money for personal expenses and to support his private business, authorities said Friday.
David Garmoe, 54, of the 600 block of Prairie Avenue in Glen Ellyn, was arrested Friday and charged with eight counts of theft, two counts of forgery, two counts of continuing a financial crimes enterprise, money laundering and financial institution fraud, Glen Ellyn Police Chief Phil Norton said.
