Connie Canaday Howard

Connie Canaday Howard BTE’s Artistic Director and a member of the acting ensemble, most recently appeared in BTE’s production of Noises Off. Connie has previously played several roles with the Ensemble, among which were Annie in The Real Thing, and Harper in Angels in America and Hannah in Warrior. She has previously directed many shows for BTE, including the critically acclaimed productions of Rabbit Hole, Into The Woods, I Hate Hamlet, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Dancing at Lughnasa. Other favorite directing projects with C.O.D., where she is Director of Theater, have been The Boys Next Door, The Crucible, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, MacBeth and True Confessions of the Wolf. The Heidi Chronicles, directed by Connie, received the 1993 award for best non-professional production in Chicagoland by the Academy of Theatre Artists and Friends. Ms. Canaday Howard was C.O.D.’s Outstanding Faculty for 2003-2004.

Amelia Barrett

Amelia Barrett is associate artistic director of BTE and a member of the acting ensemble. She has acted in numerous BTE productions over the years, most recently playing Becca in Rabbit Hole. She has appeared with regional companies such as Idaho Repertory Theatre, internationally at the Edinburgh Festival and in Chicago venues such as City Lit, she is also active in independent film. In addition, she directs for the company, her most recent project was The Woman in Black. Amelia is Associate Professor of Theater at C.O.D., where she most recently directed Alice in Wonderland. She holds a master’s degree in fine arts from the University of Texas at Austin in Acting.
