GEL SHARE: Grace Lutheran Church to Collect 100 Bags to Celebrate 100 Years

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Grace Lutheran Church’s, church members embark on a project to benefit the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry.

Grace, located at 493 Forest and Pennsylvania Avenues in downtown Glen Ellyn, has been the home of the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry for 30 years. During this time the members of the church have served as volunteers, food collectors, clerical helpers and numerous other positions that help the operation of the Food Pantry. Many local residents, community organizations and schools have actively contributed to the success of the Food Pantry.

In honor of the 100th Anniversary, Grace members are going to collect 100 bags of food for the Food Pantry. The church seeks friends, neighbors, and Village residents to help. The collection bags include instructions stapled on them explaining how to complete this project. A list of non-perishable grocery items are stapled as guidelines on the bags.

Organizers hope by the February, 28th Birthday Celebration, to turn in all 100 bags to the Food Pantry.
