GEL HOT JAZZ: Glen Ellyn Chamber Renews Jazz in Glen Ellyn with Allstar Lineup

Jazz In Glen Ellyn logo

Two months ago the fate of a jazz festival in downtown Glen Ellyn was as up in the air as George Clooney with the dissolution of the founding partnership between The McAninch Arts Center, WDCB Public Radio, White Space Design and The Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce.

Today, the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce announced an impressive lineup for the newly retitled 2012 Jazz in Glen Ellyn for the Saturday, July 14th Glen Ellyn Chamber sponsored event.

What about Glen Ellyn Jazz Fest?

According to the MAC tensions mounted over how the Chamber wanted to fund future jazz events.

Reports from the Chamber since the cancellation of Glen Ellyn Jazz Fest about the financial situation contradict reports from other founding organizations. Aside from the changes the Chamber sought that were claimed in-congruent with the principles of the partnership, the Chamber asserts this year's event will continue to be free to the public, with food and beverages available for sale as in prior years.

How exactly the Chamber's fundraising efforts will differ and improve the financial position of this year's event remain unclear.
