As the year unfolds, health officials are learning more about the disease, vaccine is becoming available, and the flu has become widespread in our communities. School districts are working hand-in-hand with the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) to promote prevention, provide accurate information and work together to help safeguard the health of our community.

GEL NEWS: Glen Ellyn Resident Opens Door for Ugandan Youth

Paula Maxwell, Raouf Radi, Jethro and Michael at Spokes Bike Shop

We don’t hear much about HIV/AIDS here in Glen Ellyn. We think of HIV/AIDS as a disease that exists way beyond our borders. And that’s partially true. While our community in the broader context is minimally impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic, many residents have taken an active role in helping orphaned children in distant places live dignified and healthy lives, and offer spiritual peace and meaning.
