Continuing a long tradition, WFMT will broadcast live the opening night of the Lyric Opera's production of Berlioz' The Damnation of Faust. Anima is proud to have 50 wonderful choristers participating in this unique production, starring Susan Graham, John Relyea, and Paul Groves. If you cannot attend the opera, tune in for the next best thing!

Parents! Bring your 3rd, 4th and 5th grader and join us!

Where: Glen Ellyn Park District Bldg. @ 501 Hill in Glen Ellyn (3rd floor)

What: An open rehearsal--just for fun! You and your child can join Anima choristers for a rehearsal, meet the conductors and learn more about singing with Anima!

Anima - Young Singers of Greater Chicago

Anima - Young Singers of Greater Chicago (formerly the Glen Ellyn Children’s Chorus) has a 45 year history of providing young people with rich musical experiences and extraordinary music education. Anima will be performing throughout the Glen Ellyn area in the next 2 months.

Upcoming Anima events include:

- the annual holiday concert, “Stars of Wonder” on December 19th at both 4pm and 7pm at Wentz Concert Hall in Naperville;

- the younger choristers singing at the Glen Ellyn Library on November 27th for the annual Celebrate the Season;

At the March 23, 2009 village board meeting, the Board approved $323,300 in cuts to the Glen Ellyn's Special Programs Fund (SPF) Budget.

Here is a summary of cuts to narrow the current deficit in the SPF budget:

1. Postage / Printing / Professional Services – Other (Total Cuts = $36,800)
Includes transition to a quarterly Village Newsletter from the current bi-monthly frequency. Also eliminates the 2010 Village Calendar.

2. Contribution / Historical Society (Total Cuts = $35,000)
Cut back to FY05/06 level.
